Silver Stream Railway will be open on Sunday the 20th of March from 11am till 4pm.
One of our Diesel Electric De class locomotives will likely be hauling the train of two old style wooden carriages and the guards van with open viewing platform, due to the current total fire ban in the Hutt Valley. Trains depart from the station in Reynolds Bach Drive (just off Eastern Hutt Road) Upper Hutt on demand for a 3km return journey over part of the old Wellington to Upper Hutt railway line bypassed in 1954. Gates open at 11am with the last train leaving at approx. 3:45pm. Bring a picnic and enjoy as many rides as you like for the price of an admission ticket.
