We are open to the public for train rides 1st and 3rd Sundaysand selected public holidays for most of the year except June, July, August and December when the railway is open on the first Sunday of these months often with a steam locomotive in service, supplemented by diesel locomotive or railcar. Trains operate over a 1.5km section of restored track that was originally part of the Wellington to Upper Hutt main line. Return trips take approx.15 minutes return and run on demand through out the day. Picnic facilities are avalible at our station and there is a shop where refresments including drinks and ice creams along with a range of souvenirs can be purchased. Eftpos is avalible M. The  Workshop and Engine Shed is not open for viewing on regular operating days due to it being a workshop environment unsuitable for visitors. On special event days ( Children's Day, Father's Day and our Santa Special) held throughout the year we open the workshop for viewing our latest projects and the locomotives not currently operating.
